BATHROOM DESIGN
Consider the following when planning a new or replacement bathroom:
- Plenty of space? - go for a separate bath and shower, even consider a large walk-in shower; not much space? - go for a modern, stylish showerbath, which combines the benefits of both in a compact package.
- Optimise available space - for using the basin and toilet, and for drying off after a bath or shower
- Consider storage - what do you need to store in the room itself?
- Don't forget heating and ventilation - underfloor heating offers comfort with no impact on space
- Flooring - we recommend either tiles or vinyl flooring. Carpet is easily damaged by water, laminate can also suffer. Tiles are easy to clean and dry, but can be cold underfoot and slippery. Vinyl is available in a wide variety of styles, to suit all tastes. Take a look at the Karndean website for inspiration
- If you are going for a contemporary style bathroom, use white or light coloured tiles - add splashes of colour with towels, etc - you can then change the theme if you tire of it.
- As an alternative to tiles, consider waterproof panels available in many styles. We recommend Mermaid Panels
